Raul Alejandro Ruiz Ocasio Ruiz born on January 10, 1993 is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He has been called the "King of modern Reggaeton".[2][3] He belongs to the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. [4] His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in November of 2020. Vice Versa the second album of his studio, was released in June 2021. It included the lead single "Todo de Ti". Two Latin Grammy Awards have been won by him from 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz was born on 10 January, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. Alejandro's father and guitarist Raul Ocasio , Ruiz and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz (backing vocalist) introduced him to many of his musical inspirations such as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Chris Brown. Alejandro and his father lived for many years in the United States. They mainly resided in New York City and Miami. Alejandro and Anuel an ally, a fellow Puerto Rican rapper, were childhood acquaintances. They both attended the same school and shared classes. [9][10] Alejandro was a part of school talent shows as a child because he loves dancing. After graduating from high school, Alejandro enrolled at University of Puerto Rico. He was a soccer player between the ages of six and twenty. But he eventually quit because he was unable to perform as he was expected to. To be a scout for the Premier Development League (PDL), he moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's style of music is Latin R&B and reggaeton. Also, he enjoys dance music and rhythmic pop. Billboard stated that it has been instrumental in helping "set him apart from a growing class of pop-leaning reggaetoneros". He was influenced early on by Presley and Jackson as well as later on by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee as well as Chris Brown. He also mentions Ciara as a musical inspiration.
