
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones, February 13, 1942 - September 3, 2019) was an American actress. She is best known for her roles on the movies Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872) as well as The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by her Irish mother and a New England father. She started her career as a child model , before getting into acting. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley began her career in film in the year 1958 with the Disney film The Light in the Forest The Light in the Forest, then followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). She was nominated in the year 1959 for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female. A year later, she was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female.
