Amber Benson hails from the American continent and works as a producer, actress and writer, singer/director. She is most famous for her role as Tara Maclay in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Benson has also written, directed and starred her own movies Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Also, she was a part of the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was born on the 8th of January 1977. She was born in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Danielle is her elder sister and an artist. Benson's father was Jewish while her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. Her family was raised going to the Reform congregation in Alabama. After Buffy ended Benson has been in movies like The Killing Jar and on shows such as Morganville The Series. Buffy estimates that at least 1800 Slayers are in existence with 500 who are part of the Scooby Gang. They are now able to awaken as Slayers at the time they attain a certain level of maturation like Slayer Soledad. Slayer Soledad was awakened on her sixteenth birthday.
